Guards in Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labour Camp persecute practitioners by force-feedings, beatings, and "Straightjackets"1. Early in 2000, on the second floor of the camp, a practitioner in her 60's (name unknown) was force-fed while holding a hunger strike. Guards violently forced a feeding tube into her trachea resulting in her death. Inmates used wooden boards to carry her body out of the camp and left her by the front gate. A white car took her body away.

Many practitioners were tortured. Ms. Chen Chuner was injected with poison while being force-fed. Practitioners Ms. Ma Yuhua and Ms. Li Cuifang faces swelled up and blood flowed from their mouths and noses during the force-feeding, as their painful cries tore at the hearts of those nearby. Ms. Wang Jie and Ms. Li Cuifang were handcuffed behind their backs for 50 days. Ms. Liang Hongxian was cuffed and hung from the door frame with only her toes barely touching the ground, and the police chief directed her elderly mother to kneel on the snow to force her to "transform2." Due to the severe beatings Ms. Qu Xianru suffered a mental collapse. Her dentures fell out during the torture and were broken into pieces. Ms. Mei Hongying sustained a cerebral concussion after she was beaten by police with batons and blood flowed from the head wound. Ms. Gao Li's back was broken due to torture.

In the year 2001, the wicked dictator Jiang Zemin came to Xi'an and allocated 800,000 yuan3 to the Women's Forced Labour Camp for the "transformation" of Falun Gong practitioners. If they refused to be "transformed," they were ordered to be beaten to death. Many practitioners were beaten so severely that they finally gave in. Those in the labour camp who refused to be "transformed" would be tortured with "Straightjackets." One would be in extreme pain after wearing this restraining garment. The whole body was immobilised, with the hands cuffed behind the back. All body excrement would be retained within the garment.

At the end of 2002, Ms. Liu Aiying was sent to a prison hospital with broken ribs, bruises all over her body and her face distorted beyond recognition. The police had male inmates force-feed her. Due to bleeding from her mouth and nose it became impossible to force-feed her. Ms. Sun Yuncheng was force-fed more than 20 times. Ms. Zhang Jinlan was injected with a substance which caused her to become completely paralyzed and unconscious.

Note

1. "Straightjackets" - The straightjackets, made of fine canvas, are put on the victim from the front and tightened from behind the back. The sleeves are about 10 inches longer than the victim's arms, with straps on them. The perpetrators force steadfast Dafa practitioners to wear the straitjackets, pull their arms behind their backs, and then cross and tie their arms behind their backs. Then they pull their arms up over their shoulders to the front of their chest, tie up the practitioners' legs and hang them up in the air from the windows. At the same time, they gag practitioners' mouths with cloth, put earphones in their ears and continuously play messages that slander Dafa. According to an eyewitness account, people who suffer this torture quickly sustain broken arms, tendons, shoulders, wrists and elbows. Those who endure this torture for a long time have completely broken spines, and they die in agonising pain. See one such case at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/11/1/41857.html.

2. "Reform or Transform" Implementation of brainwashing and torture in order to force a practitioner to renounce Falun Gong. (Variations: "reform", "transform", "reformed", "reforming", "transformed", "transforming", and "transformation")

3. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
