Mr. Wang Wenhuan, 69, was an engineer at the Xinguang Aeronautic Power and Mechanical Factory in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. He graduated from Northwest Industry College in 1961, and he started practising Falun Gong in 1995. Through practising Falun Gong, his various illnesses disappeared without any medication. His skin became lighter and tender. He was a humble and kind-hearted person with exquisite technological skills and several patents and awards. Regarding his personal interests, he was a publicly recognised good person and did not give in to the corrupted social conventions. After the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, he went to the government to appeal for Falun Gong. He also wrote to the governor of Liaoning Province to explain the facts about Falun Dafa based on his own experience. He was constantly harassed and threatened by the 610 Office1 for speaking out for Falun Gong. He resisted the persecution and refused to cooperate. He overcame many difficulties including his old age, and kept distributing truth materials and promoting quitting the Chinese Communist Party. The plainclothes police frequently came to his home to harass him, which resulted in his declining physical and mental health. Mr. Wang passed away on July 4th, 2006.

Mr. Lu Yuchen, 73, and Ms. Yin Shumiao, 66, are a couple who lived in Xinji City, Hebei Province. They both benefited greatly from practising Falun Gong and would never hesitate to give others a helping hand. During 2001 and 2002, they were persecuted inhumanely by the authorities. Their eldest daughter and her husband, who both practise Falun Gong, their youngest daughter and her husband who also both practise Falun Gong, and even their son who does not practise were persecuted and their homes ransacked. Their personal property was confiscated by the government. The older couple's lives were severely devastated and their physical and mental health deteriorated thereafter. In January and September 2002, the old couple passed away one after the other.

Ms. Teng Yumei, 64, started practising Falun Gong in 1996 and her stubborn illnesses disappeared without any medication. On April 25th, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was intercepted by government officials on the way and was locked up for three days. After July 20th, 1999, she was monitored, followed, and harassed constantly by government officials. Her home was ransacked twice and her personal property was confiscated. She was also arrested twice and extorted of 500 yuan2 by the police. In late 2003, Ms. Teng and her husband were detained for fifteen days for distributing Falun Gong materials and extorted of 3000 yuan without being given a receipt. Ms. Teng's physical and mental health suffered after many years of constant persecution. One of her old illnesses relapsed and she passed away in early 2006.

Ms. Chen Zixing, who is in her forties, was a resident of Changde City, Hunan Province. Before she practised Falun Gong, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her cancer was cured completely after she started practising Falun Gong. After July 20th, 1999, she was harassed and persecuted many times by the 610 Office and her local community government officials. This resulted in a mental collapse and relapse of breast cancer. She passed away after the Chinese lunar new year of 2005.

Note

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
