On July the 23rd 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from the Republic of Moldova organised an activity on the square at Chisinau’s Opera and Ballet Theatre to let Moldovan people know about the seven years of persecution against Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Falun Gong practitioners aspire to be good people and improve their moral character by following the practice’s guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Falun Gong was made public in China in 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi and by 1999, 100 million people were enjoying improved health and morality through the practice. Then CCP leader Jiang Zemin was jealous of the practice’s popularity and launched a wide-scale persecution against Falun Gong in July 1999, vowing to “eliminate” the practice within 3 months.

Many people signed a petition calling on the Moldovan authorities to take action to stop the CCP's organ harvesting
People talked with practitioners to find out more

The Moldovan practitioners gave out leaflets and talked with passers by to tell them how almost 3,000 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed, with the true figure thought to be several times higher. The Chinese Communist Party has used countless forms of torture and maltreatment in attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs, including rape and sexual assault.

One of the more recent emergences of human rights atrocities against Falun Gong practitioners is the harvesting of organs in labour camps across China. The organs are taken from living practitioners and sold to donors seeking transplants. The practitioners’ bodies are then cremated. The Moldovan practitioners told people about this to arouse their compassion and sympathy for what has been described as a “new form of evil” in a report by former Canadian Secretary of State David Kilgour and Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas.

As they heard and understood these things, Moldovan people were deeply shocked. Some signed a petition to the top authorities of Moldova, calling on them to do everything possible, at a diplomatic level, to stop this pointless massacre in China. As people read the posters about these human rights abuses and talked with practitioners, they condemned the CCP and expressed their disgust that such things could take place in the 21st century.

After listening to the positive effects of practising Falun Gong upon the moral standard and the health of practitioners, a policeman requested a book and expressed a wish to start the practice.

Together with the adults at the protest, the children of those who practise Falun Gong also participated. The little ones gave out leaflets and explained, with seriousness, the truth to passers by. Many of them wanted to listen to the truth from the children.
