Changchun City, Jilin Province

According to inside sources from the police department, before the Spring Festival, policemen from Changchun City' Police Department for several nights started a large-scale raid upon Falun Gong practitioners. During that raid, officials issued an order that "policemen could shoot to kill any Falun Gong practitioners who were found posting Dafa signs or hanging Dafa banners." After the order was issued, most of the policemen could not understand. They were talking with each other on this order, "What is the difference between this and the law-violations during the period of the Cultural Revolution?"

This issue reminded us that several days before, Liu Jin, head of the central "610 Office" [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], convened a meeting to assert the directive of suppressing Falun Gong, a meeting held in the Nanhu Hotel of Changchun City. During this meeting he angrily criticized the ineffectiveness of persecuting Falun Gong in Jilin Province. He sent down critical orders to suppress Falun Gong using all available forces. The order, "permission to shoot Falun Gong practitioners to death," was set forth at that meeting. Fortunately, after over two years of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, most policemen have seen through the situation. They just do their work perfunctorily to keep their jobs and would not follow orders to kill people.
