It has been many years since we established a Falun Gong exercise group in Bochumer. Falun Gong is a Buddhist qigong school, whose adherents live by the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.” At the present time, practitioners meet every Sunday at 10am in Bochumer public park to do the exercises.

During a visit by staff from the Society of Threatened Peoples, practitioners from Dortmund, Oberhausen and Gelsenkirchen joined us. Klaus Deuchert, a thirty year member of this human rights organisation and Christian group, associated with the regional Wanne Eickler group, said that they had made inquiries since July 30th, 2006, about the horrible human rights situation in China, where Falun Gong has been banned since 1999.

A Chinese lady, who had suffered sixteen months in a Chinese labour camp, because she was discovered to carry Falun Gong material, also came for this event. The members also heard that the latest eye-witness information tells of organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners and that the organs are sold for profit.
