Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Xu Jiayan from Guangxi Province

After the persecution against Falun Gong began in July 1999, lawless officials frequently harassed Dafa practitioner Mr. Xu Jiayan from Jinghai Town, Beihai, Guangxi Province. They detained him, ransacked his home, monitored and intimidated him at his home and took him to a brainwashing class.

Xu Jiayan was arrested in Jianshe Square by officers from Jianshe Police Department on July 22nd, 1999. He was held for more than ten hours.

On July 11th, 2000, a dozen police officers ransacked Xu Jiayan¡¦s home and took him to the Gaode Police Station. They detained him for a few hours and then sent him to the No. 2 Detention Centre in Pingyang, where he was forced to do slave labour for fifteen days.

Prior to October 2003, the police harassed Xu Jiayan at his home and then took him to the police station and held him there for a few hours. They also threatened his family.

On October 4th, 2003, officers from the local 610 Office1 and from the police department and the Politics and Law Committee arrested Xu Jiayan and held him at the Haicheng District Police Department for three days and three nights. They later transferred him to Jinghai Town office and held him there for a few days. He later escaped, but the officials again threatened his family.

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
