A gang of ruffians led by police officer Chen Wanyou illegally arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Dongxia from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. They sent her to the Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp on January 6th 2003, to continue her persecution. Ms. Wang was tortured to the verge of death and was taken home in early September 2003. She soon passed away. The following gives some of the facts concerning the persecution of Ms. Wang.

Ms. Wang and her mother went to Beijing to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Dafa at the end of July 1999. She and four other practitioners went to Beijing to validate Dafa again in September 1999. The police officers from Fengtai, Beijing Train Station harassed them at the guest house. Ms. Wang returned to Beijing again in early January 2000. She was arrested and detained in Jiamusi City's liaison office in Beijing. Zhang Yonggui from the Qiaonan Police Station and Wang Lianwen from the security section of the No. 3 Division of Water Resources took Ms Wang back around January 12th and detained her in the Jiamusi Detention Centre for about 50 days. Her family asked some influential people to help, so she could be released. The detention centre authorities extorted 6,000 yuan from her family.

Zhang Yonggui and Wang Lianwen arrested Ms. Wang and took her to the Qiaonan Police Station, and sentenced her to one year of forced labour in November 2000. She was released in April 2001. In November, agents from the city police department detained Wang Dongxia again. She was locked up for more than ten days. Her family again asked influential people to help. The authorities extorted 3,000 yuan from her family this time.

Officers from the city police department and the police station searched five places for Ms. Wang on December 14th 2002. Chen Wanyou from the City Police Department led a gang of ruffians who arrested Ms. Wang, her husband and her mother-in-law at the home of her younger brother's wife and took them to the Qianjin Police Station. There, the practitioners were beaten from about 9:00 p.m. until past 3:00 a.m. the next morning. Three police officers took turns beating them. Practitioner Yin Haizhu was also arrested at that time, but escaped later. Chen Wanyou searched everywhere for Yin Haizhu. Ms. Wang, along with her husband and mother-in-law, was detained in the detention centre on December 15th.

On January 7th 2003, Wang Dongxia and her husband were sentenced to three years of forced labour each, and her mother-in-law was sentenced to two years' forced labour. Her husband and mother-in-law were refused entry to the labour camp because they were ill. Ms. Wang suffered all kinds of inhumane torture in the forced labour camp. Her health steadily deteriorated. The guards on duty and criminal inmates often beat and insulted her because she read articles written by Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa. Ms. Wang was sent to the hospital for treatment many times as a result of the torture she suffered.

Ms. Wang became weaker and weaker. At last, she couldn't eat anything. The forced labour camp authorities still refused to release her. The authorities wouldn't permit her family to see her, and would not set her free, either. Her father had no choice but to speak to Chen Wanyou, who tried to extort 10,000 Yuan. Her father gave him 8,000 Yuan for the early release of his daughter. Chen said, "You get a 2,000-Yuan discount." He also forced Ms. Wang to sign an agreement to be a "helper" even though her mind was wandering.

Ms. Wang was carried out of the forced labour camp and sent directly to the City Tuberculosis Hospital in early September 2003. Later she was hospitalised two more times. The three treatments cost her family 20,000 Yuan in total. Because Ms. Wang had been persecuted for such a long time, she finally died.
