At 9:30 a.m. on July 20th, 2006, two members of the Canadian independent investigation team, David Kilgour and David Matas, held a press conference at the National Press Club. They announced their two-month investigation into allegations of the CCP's organ removal from Falun Gong practitioners and answered questions from participants. Their independent investigation verifies the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities of organ removal from living practitioners. This has caught the attention of the international community and media.

David Matas, international human rights lawyer, and David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada, disclosed that after a two-month investigation to prove or disprove 18 various kinds of evidence, they concluded that "Based on what we now know, we have come to the regrettable conclusion that the allegations are true. We believe that there has been and continues today to be large-scale organ seizures from unwilling Falun Gong practitioners."

The two came to Washington after trips to Europe and Hong Kong respectively. They also discussed the international community's response to their report, titled "Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China." Mr. Kilgour said that the response was very positive. Mainstream media in Canada, Belgium, Hong Kong, Germany, Britain, and the US have paid attention to and covered the report. The Vice President of the European Parliament, governments of European countries and human rights organisations, and Hong Kong council members, have met the two investigators and sternly condemned the CCP's inhuman crime.

Mr. Kilgour asked how come Canada, the US, Britain, Germany and other responsible international community members have not taken any action against this country that kills people for vital organs.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Huimin, who was tortured in Guangzhou Labour Camp, came to testify at the press conference.

Ms. Wang Huimin conducted a four-month huger strike to protest the CCP's torture. The labour camp had her undergo a physical examinations at least four times. Later, her weight dropped to only 73 pounds and she was released because her life was in danger.

Mr. Morton Sklar, Executive Director of the World Organization for Human Rights USA, attended the press conference. He said that he did not suspect the CCP's live organ removal, but during the past seven years, Falun Gong practitioners have become the victims of this crime.

After the press conference, Mr. David Kilgour and Mr. David Matas went to the US Congress to attend a human rights group meeting and both of them gave a speech at the Falun Gong practitioners' rally on the lawn at the west side of the Capitol. They said that it was important to spread the news of the CCP's organ harvesting.

They suggested in their report that those more capable governments, and non-governmental and inter-governmental human rights organisations should pay serious attention to the allegations and make their own judgment.
