Switzerland: Letting Overseas Chinese Know the Truth about Falun Gong

Ms Pan and Mr. Yang, an elderly Chinese couple living in Bern, Switzerland started to practice Falun Gong. After the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party began in 1999, they have taken every opportunity to explain the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong when meeting other Chinese. A reporter interviewed Ms. Pan who is approaching seventy years old, asking her to tell us about her story.

Reporter: How are you, Ms Pan? How did you start to practice Falun Gong?

Pan: I used to practice a Tso School Qigong. Although I practiced it for fifty years, I was still possessed by diseases. I went to hospitals for my medical conditions but it did not help. In November of 1998, I started to practice Falun Gong. Seven weeks later, I became another person: I felt light without illnesses. I have deeply experienced the goodliness of Falun Dafa. Since 20th of July 1999, the CCP has been beating down Falun Gong by blotting out the sky and covering up the earth, which I think is absolutely wrong. Therefore, I must walk out and clarify the truth. I think that Falun Gong is innocent, so is our Master.

When did you start to explain the truth to the Chinese people?

In spring of 2000 when the Chinese Embassy in Switzerland knew that I am a person who practices Falun Gong, they just asked me to give up practicing Falun Gong. I then told them how I have benefited from practicing Falun Gong; this was the first time that I clarified the truth to Chinese people face to face.

Did they ask you to go to the Embassy and have a word with you then?

No. It was in spring of 2000 when the UN Conference of Human Rights was held in Geneva. It was because the Chinese Embassy did not know I practice Falun Gong then that somebody from the Embassy phoned me saying: “The characters of you and Mr. Yang are comparatively higher in the community of overseas Chinese.”

What education have you and Mr. Yang have received?

We both graduated from university, the person of the Embassy said: “I am calling to ask you take part in a press conference which is to criticise Falun Gong.” I told him: “Frankly speaking, I am a person who practices Falun Gong. You all know that I was poor in health in the past. Now I am very healthy. It is Falun Gong that has given me my health. Today, you ask me to participate in a meeting to criticise Falun Gong saying that Falun Gong is not good. If I do it, I will have no conscience. ” I talked to them on the phone for over forty minutes then.

What was their attitude?

They insisted on saying: “Don’t take part in that political activity, which is against the Government.” I told them: You are wrong. The CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong is absolutely wrong, which history will prove. Many people who practice Falun Gong are scholars, experts and persons who have obtained several degrees. They all take part in cultivation. As soon as they start to practice, they become healthy. Is it that they have chosen something wrong? Are they all unwise or superstitious?

It was the first time for you to explain the truth to the Chinese. Well then, how do you continue after that?

After that, I often participate in get-togethers. Because I have some friends, they often introduce me to their friends. Some of them have come here working from mainland China and some visiting their relatives. So I just take the opportunity of clarifying the truth to them, distributing the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” and persuading them to quit all organisations of the CCP such as its Party, League and Young Pioneers.

I give you an example. A man who came to visit his relatives is the manager of a big company in a city in China. When clarifying the truth, I said to him: Do you know that there have been over 10,000,000 people who have quit the Party, since 1949, the CCP has killed over 80,000,000 Chinese people and now it is still killing people. Nearly 3000 Falun Gong practitioners whose names are known have been persecuted to death. After that, I told him how Falun Gong was wonderful and what changes took place on my body through practicing Falun Gong. After hearing my experience, he also felt that Falun Gong is indeed miraculous. He said: The CCP’ suppression of Falun Gong has really gone too far.

I continued telling him: The CCP is so cruel that it has removed organs from live Falun Gong practitioners seeking huge profits, at which he was shocked. He said: “Why has it cruelly treated our own fellowmen?” I said: “What the CCP has done has aroused the great indignation of both men and gods. If man does not destroy it, God will. Please quit all related organisations of the CCP in order to keep yourself safe, and don’t get involved in it when it is destroyed. He answered: “I will consider it for a while”. I told him: “Please read the “Nine Commentaries” carefully when you get home.”

After reading the “Nine Commentaries, he asked me out saying: “Please help me to quit all organisations of the CCP and my girl friend also.” He told me: “Both my elder brother and his wife used to work for the police in the 610 Office in China. Once, they went to Beijing to get a Falun Gong practitioner back under escort (because he had gone to Beijing to appeal), the Falun Gong practitioner is a University Professor. On their way back, the professor was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong, which made a stir in the whole carriage and had a strong appeal to all passengers. Even my brother and his wife were so interested in his truth clarification that they forgot their own identities as police. When they got home, they said: ‘we will not do such a thing anymore; we’ll tell our leader not to do. I said to him you have not only known the facts and have quit the Party but you will have an opportunity of doing a very good deed as well. Please tell your bother and his wife asking them to quit all organisations of the CCP.” He answered: “right, I will try to persuade them to withdraw from the organisations of the CCP when I get back.”

Now more and more Chinese are coming to Europe as tourists

When the Government of Switzerland relaxed visas for the Chinese who want to come to Switzerland, more and more tourists from mainland China are coming here. Everyday, about one or two hundred tourists go to Lucerne, a famous place of interest. I go there every day clarifying the truth. It takes me two hours for a trip by train. No mater what weather is, I persist in going there.

Some Chinese tourists very much like to take truth clarification materials and some would like but dare not. For example, a crowd just got off the coach and one of them very much likes to take materials. As soon as he gets off the coach, he speaks loudly: Are they about Falun Gong? I answer: Yes, they are telling you the truth about Falun Gong. We have got the “Nine Commentaries” as well. He said: Give me one of them. He then shouts: Who is afraid of taking the material? With his shouting, some others all take material. When looking through the materials, they find the “Nine Commentaries” in it. After eye contacts, several people first put the “Nine Commentaries” into their bags and then they all stand there reading some other newspapers and materials about Dafa.

Have you ever met some whose attitude was especially rude?

Yes. There was policeman from China. He said: “Don’t tell me that. Do you know what I do?” I told him: “I don’t care what you do; you can be a good person whatever you do.” He said: “I am working for the police and my duty is to catch people.” Because he was near a watch shop, he continued saying: “Do you know that the chain of a watch can handcuff a person?” I said to him: “You don’t need to frighten me. What I am doing is good for you. You will commit crimes if you arrest a good person. You should defend a good person.” He said: “You get out from here!” “We have freedom in Switzerland. That we practice Falun Gong is to be defended by the Law, and we are not in China. From your behaviour, you should read the “Nine Commentaries” carefully. Once you read it, you will know what the CCP exactly is.” He went on saying: “We are all here today working for the police.”

On seeing other people coming, I went up to them distributing materials. Well, there were indeed some other policemen taking the material. One of our fellow practitioners told him how he had benefited from practicing Falun Gong. That policeman said: “Yes, we all know that Falun Gong is good because it is a marvel in healing illness and fitness. Why do you come out clarifying the truth? You can practice it at home.” The fellow practitioner answered: “Because it is wrong to beat it down and Falun Gong is wronged. We are crying out about our grievances and are telling people the fact about Falun Gong.” The other people indeed were listening to him, and could accept the truth clarification as well, which just happened these past two days.

In fact, not only Falun Gong practitioners in Switzerland clarify the truth to the Chinese people but all Falun Gong practitioners in over eighty countries and areas including China where Chinese people are likely to meet Falun Gong practitioners giving them truth clarification material. The story of clarifying the truth by Ms Pan just now is in fact happening in different places of the world. The sound of clarifying the truth will not stop unless the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP stops.
