Shiling Prison officials in Siping City, Jilin Province phoned Liang Zhenxing's family members on June 5th, 2006 and requested that they come to the prison for a meeting. The prison officials clearly stated that Liang Zhenxing's wife was not permitted to attend the meeting. They also said that Mr. Liang was extremely weak from a month-long hunger strike. Two prison officials physically supported Liang Zhenxing as they brought him out of the prison cell for the meeting. He had a force-feeding tube in his nose.

Mr. Liang's sister cried inconsolably when she saw him like this. He sat in a chair at a table, but his hands were firmly pressed on the table so he couldn't move. When his family asked to know why, the persecutors explained that Mr. Liang could not sit up on his own.

Sixteen to seventeen prison guards then surrounded Liang Zhenxing's family members. Liang Zhenxing confirmed the fact that he had been tortured. It was June, and the weather was already hot. Everyone was wearing short-sleeved shirts, yet Liang Zhenxing was in winter clothing. He said he was feeling cold. When the family wanted to open his coat to examine him, the prison guards immediately and hurriedly carried Mr. Liang away, ending the meeting.

Liang Zhenxing was arrested in 2002 for his involvement in the interception of television broadcast signals in Changchun City, where local television signals were replaced with Falun Dafa video broadcasts exposing the persecution. He was sentenced to 19 years in prison. So far he has been held in detention for four years, and he has been transferred to several prisons for ongoing persecution. In the second half of 2005, Mr. Liang was transferred from the Tiebei Prison in Changchun City to the Siping Prison.

Mr. Liang is being detained unconstitutionally. The prison authorities have unreasonably refused to let his family visit him. Liang Zhenxing started a hunger strike on May 6th, 2006, to protest against the persecution. The prison persecutors became frightened that their crimes would be exposed. Thus, between May 11th and 12th, they requested Mr. Liang's wife to go to the prison to visit him. By then, he was hospitalised. When his wife saw him at the Siping Hospital on May 12th, he was wearing shackles. Liang Zhenxing said that the prison authorities forbade anyone in the prison to converse with him. Even so much as taking a look at him was forbidden. Whoever talked to him or exchanged glances with him would be brutally beaten. He told his wife the reason for the hunger strike was to protest the persecution. He demanded that all practitioners be unconditionally released.
