Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Meng Lijun is from Guanzhuang Township, Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province. She was arrested at the end of September 2005 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. While imprisoned, she was injected with a poisonous drug, causing her to lose her memory.

Ms. Meng Lijun has been mistreated multiple times during the persecution of Falun Gong. However, it was during the September 2005 arrest that she was injected with nerve damaging drugs in Jinan City, resulting in her memory loss. In spite of, or because of, this circumstance, she was made to face her charges for arrest at trial.

The prison authorities did not notify Ms. Meng's family before her scheduled trial, but brought her husband, who had been threatened, to the Court on that day. Ms. Meng, incapacitated by the drugs, was thereby sentenced to 10 years in Shandong Province Women’s Prison. The Administration of the Prison refused family visits until one month ago, when Ms. Meng Lijun's 80-year-old mother and her niece came to visit. It was as if they were seeing a different person. Ms. Meng could not remember her past, she could not remember Falun Dafa, and she only cried, "I want to go home! I want to go home!"

Ms. Meng's mother was heart broken upon seeing that her loving daughter had become so spiritually injured. Ms. Meng used to take care of her mother and disabled younger brother, often coming back home with a smile. She never complained about hardship. Even when she was tortured in Jiangshuiquan Labour Camp in Jinan City and brutally force-fed in Jinan City Detention Centre in 2004, she never shed a tear. Seeing her crying like this now, how could her mother's heart not be broken?

Ms. Meng Lijun has a young daughter and a 12-year-old son, who have, since September 2005, been without their mother's care.
