A Government Official’s Personal Story of Persecution

I'm an ordinary Chinese government official. I would like to share some of my personal experiences in order to illustrate to you what it's actually like during this so-called "best human rights period in China," according to Jiang's criminal regime.

Simply because I practice Falun Dafa, starting from April 25th, 1999, the police department and the government unit that I work for assigned people to follow and monitor me at all times. Since then, the persecution has continued to escalate, becoming even more severe on certain "sensitive" days such as April 25th, May 13th, July 20th, [the day of the Zhongnanhai Appeal, World Falun Dafa day, and the day when the persecution started, respectively] and all holidays. Over a dozen government units and dozens of individuals were involved in the persecution towards me. I was illegally detained on four separate occasions for a total of 86 days. In addition, my home was searched ten times, I was fined a total of over 8,000 Yuan [about US$1,000, an average city person's annual income in China is about 5,000 Yuan] by my work unit. My monthly salary was reduced by 110 Yuan and I was denied a raise in my salary twice. The police department, the "610 Office" [specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches], my work unit and the residential committee of my living area worked together to assign people to monitor me. My work unit was responsible for the daytime and the security unit of my living area was responsible for the evenings. I had to get approval from the police department, the "610 Office" and my work unit if I wanted to leave the city I live in; otherwise it was deemed to be breaking the security rules and the law.
