Mr. Song Tinxiao, 48, lived in the Yangchao Village near Defei City, Jilin Province. In 1996, his whole family got to know Falun Dafa. He had suffered from severe kidney disease before he started practising Falun Gong. Both his body and mind benefited greatly from his cultivation practise. On March 8th, 2002, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials and the police from Changchun City arrested over 5,000 practitioners. Mr. Song was one of them. On April 17th, 2006 he was sentenced to one year in the Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp located in Jiutai City. His health was severely affected due to brutal persecution. He suffered from acute oedema and also from serious heart and kidney disease. Later, he even lost his ability to urinate, and the labour camp had to release him. Due to frequent harassment by CCP officials, Mr. Song was unable to study the Falun Dafa teachings or practise the Falun Gong exercises regularly. His health steadily declined and on July 6th, 2005 he died.

Mr. Huang Xiaojun, 37, was a resident of Danian of Liaoning Province. Before he learned Falun Gong, he suffered many diseases. During his middle school years, he suffered a gastric hemorrhage, so he had to have the majority of his stomach surgically removed. During his university days, Mr. Huang suffered various illnesses such as hepatitis B, nephritis, anaemia, insomnia and so on. He was hospitalised many times due to critical illnesses, and had to temporarily suspend his college studies. When he started his career, Mr. Huang's symptoms became even worse. Both traditional Chinese medical treatments and Western medical treatments failed to help. He suffered from severe diseases for a long period of time. In 1994, Huang Xiaojun learned Falun Gong. Since beginning the practice, his symptoms all disappeared and he obtained a new life. But after July 20th, 1999, when the CCP began its brutal persecution of Falun Gong, the local police knocked on his door and harassed him every day. His mother, a 60-year-old practitioner, went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong, and had to leave for south China. During those days, he suffered horrible beatings by police officer Gao of the Xigang Sub-bureau of Public Security in Danian. They took away his ID and kept threatening him. As a result of the relentless persecution, Mr. Huang was severely injured both physically and mentally. On January 17th, 2000, he died.

Ms. Liu Yue, 70, was a practitioner from Zhuolu County in Hebei Province. Before July 20th, 1999, both she and her husband improved their health and had all of their diseases cured through practising Falun Gong. After the persecution began, because of the terror created by the CCP, they lived a very precarious life. Every day their hearts were filled with fear and terror. They were too scared to continue their Fa-study or to practise the Falun Gong exercises. Whenever they heard police sirens outside, they thought that the police were coming to arrest them. Due to long-time suffering caused by the torment of the persecution, Ms. Liu died in August 2003.

Mr. Dong Tinlin, 64, was a resident of Qunli Village of Jianguo Town, Heilongjiang Province. Since he started practising Falun Gong in 1998, his heart disease, high blood pressure, and atrophic gastritis disappeared and he became healthy and energetic. After July 20th, 1999, Mr. Dong kept up his practice of Falun Gong, and continued explaining the true situation of Falun Gong to the public until he was reported to the police. The police, with the 610 Office1, went to his home and harassed him many times. His children misunderstood him. Under so much pressure, Mr. Dong's past diseases recurred, and he died in February 2004.
