A 22 year old German student, Andre Hubert was released today Feb 18 after 4 days detention in a Chinese police station and jail. He took part in the peaceful appeal at Tiananmen Square on Feb 14. Within a few seconds, after he had unfurled a banner showing "Falun Dafa", several policemen jumped on him and knocked him down brutally to the ground and forced him into a police van. They threw him on the van floor with the face pressed on the floor. Some policemen sat on him and the others kicked and beat him.

Andre's request of talking to officials from the German embassy was ignored for days and consequently Andre refused to answer questions as long as his request was refused. He was then sent to a prison facility somewhere north of Beijing. He and two other Falun Gong practitioners, one from Sweden and one from Japan shared a cell together with seven criminals accused of theft, drug and prostitution. There was no bed in the cell but only 8 sleeping slots on a wooden floor for 10 people. Everywhere was dirty. The other prisoners told Andre that this jail was of the best standard.

At Frankfurt airport, some 15 Falun Gong practitioners were there to welcome Andre returning home. German TV journalists were also there waiting to interview him. "I could see some policemen are totally poisoned by the government propaganda ", Andre told a German journalist "some of them looked really evil, probably from the office 610, the office dedicated to suppressing Falun Gong". " The Chinese policemen were so brutal and inhumane but at the same time they are so afraid of Falun Dafa, although we always remain peaceful."

" When I was approaching the police station near Tiananmen Square, I could hear my fellow practitioners who were arrested before me singing together 'Falun Dafa is good', I could not stop my tears from coming - so pure, so compassionate, what a contrast to the evils."
