On December 17th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners went to the Thai Embassy in Brussels to deliver an open letter from the Belgian Falun Gong Association to the Thai Government.

In the letter to the secretary to the Ambassador and the first secretary of the Embassy, practitioners detailed the recent incidents of harassment of Falun Gong practitioners by Thai police, which took place between December 9th and 15th in Bangkok and Pattaya. Under the direction and instigation of the Chinese Embassy, the Thai police unreasonably interfered with the peaceful protest activity held by Falun Gong practitioners in front of the Chinese Embassy. They seized the practitioners’ banners, searched their bags and forcibly moved them from the positions they had freely been allowed on previous occasions, even arrested Falun Gong practitioners who were distributing Falun Gong leaflets. This action severely violated Falun Gong practitioners’ fundamental human rights. The practitioners also stated the facts of the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong.

The open letter mentioned that, in the past six years, Falun Gong practitioners experienced maltreatment, torture and rape. It has been confirmed that at least 2793 have been persecuted to death. We believe that, if the Thai police had learned the truth of the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong, they would not have carried out the instructions from the Chinese officials to participate in the persecution of Falun Gong.

We write this open letter to protest against the misbehaviour of the Thai police. More importantly, we hope that the Thai Government and people can clearly recognise the CCP’s evil nature, thus preventing similar events happening ever again. We urge the Thai Embassy to convey our request to the Thai Government.
The first secretary promised to pass the letter and related material to the Ambassador and the Thai Government as soon as possible.
