Austria: On International Human Rights Day, Practitioners from Salzburg Inform the Public about the Persecution of Falun Gong.

On December 10th, International Human Rights Day, practitioners from Salzburg and Bavaria raised public awareness in the city of Salzburg about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The pictures displayed were in stark contrast with the peaceful atmosphere of the city, where people were visiting the Christmas fair. There were many wooden huts, decorated with angels, Christmas trees and traditional Christmas decorations and the scent of incense was in the air.

Right from the start, we could tell how much the situation had changed since we first began holding this kind of activity. As soon as we had set up our posters and laid out the brochures, many people stopped in front of the pictures of the tortured innocent practitioners and asked for explanations about Falun Gong. Many of the passersby had tears in their eyes because of the gruesome pictures. Many of them felt the strong need to sign our petition.

One elderly gentleman from Salzburg was very touched by the practitioners in China who are suffering those tortures. One lady told us that she would keep her fingers crossed for our future activities. Other people mentioned that it was re-assuring to see that people still exist who are willing to stand up for righteousness.

Suddenly, we noticed a Chinese tourist who appeared shocked after he saw pictures from his home country. This was an opportunity for him to see what is truly happening there.
