Police Pierce a Practitioner's Body with Nails Over 100 Times

[Shenyang, Liaoning Province]

On the morning of August 25, 2001, the police from the Dadong District Yaochang Police Station arrested a few practitioners. They suffered inhuman tortures in this police station. Han, a policeman from the First Section of the Shenyang Public Security Bureau, and Zhang Bin, together with a few other policemen, joined in brutally beating those practitioners. Practitioners Liu Mingte and Zhang Chaoguo were beaten for a whole day. They were beaten until they were black and blue all over their bodies, and their faces were badly swollen. For refusing to tell his name and home address, Liu Libo was beaten by the police from the First Section of the Shenyang Public Security Bureau for nearly two days and one night. His entire body was covered with wounds. They also inhumanely tortured him by driving nails into his body, making over 100 nail holes. There were two wounds on his face, which were burns caused by cigarettes. He was unable to move his arms and stretch his body to stand up for a long period of time.

When practitioner Jiang Xiufang (female) asked to use the restroom, they refused her request and beat her even more viciously. After she defecated in her pants, they still refused to let her change. She was forced to stay in this police station wearing her dirty pants for two days and two nights. On the evening of January 25, Han and Zhangbin beat and kicked Jiang Xiufang brutally. The inside of her legs were beaten till they turned dark blue. They also beat her face relentlessly with slippers and burned her face with cigarettes, causing her to suffer severe headaches for more than two weeks. Han has even declared that in his 10 years as a policeman, there has never been a case where he has not beaten someone.

The practitioners listed above have not given in to the tortures exercised by those vicious perpetrators.
