On August 2nd, 2005, Mr. Gao Shijie died under the terror of the persecution. His last days were spent in the environment of his loved ones suffering long-term mistreatment by lawless officials.

Mr. Gao Shijie's wife, son, and daughter-in-law all started practising Falun Dafa in 1994. His family life became very peaceful, and that benefited Mr. Gao Shijie a great deal. He had even joined the group exercises once in a while. He had a college degree, and he often said that Master Li's "Zhuan Falun1" was wonderful. He was very supportive of his wife practising Falun Dafa and warmly welcomed fellow practitioners to visit their home.

After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Gao lived under huge pressure and terror. The lawless officials detained his family members and sent his daughter-in-law to a forced labour camp, leaving him with his infant grandson.

Under such terror, he was forced to write a guarantee statement2 for each of his family members, pay illegal fines, and was pressured to make sure his family members stopped studying the Falun Dafa teachings and practising the exercises. He said he trembled every time he heard the doorbell or the phone ring. He even disconnected the phone line for a long time. Under the terror of the persecution, Mr. Gao Shijie died on August 2nd, 2005.
