Sweden: Information day at an Adult Education College

On January 25th we were invited to a residential college for adult education in Värmland. We informed the attendees about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. We also showed new video films and demonstrated the exercises. Some of the participants attended a programme for “keep-fit measures” at the college so we also discussed the health benefits of the practice.

Many of the participants expressed surprise at, but also appreciation of, the fact that Falun Gong practitioners organize and carry out all activities voluntarily. The fact that all Falun Gong activities are non-commercial was considered highly unusual.

One of the participants asked why Falun Gong is banned in China and why the practitioners are persecuted. A discussion began and everybody could understand that Truth, Compassion and Forbearance could not be accepted by a corrupt and evil regime. The wrongfulness of the persecution was thereby exposed. The participants were unpleasantly affected by the ruthless methods used by the police and the 610 office. [The 610 office is a bureau created solely for the purpose of persecuting Falun Gong. It has absolute power over every administrative level of the party and all other political and legal systems-]

We were also asked why practitioners travel around and inform about Falun Gong. In response to the question a practitioner said: “I know that right know people are being tortured because they believe in Truth, Compassion and Forbearance. This cannot be right. It is impossible to accept the evil. This has to end! That is why I try to reach as many people as possible to inform them about what is going on”.
