Practitioner Ms. Chen Meili is in her sixties. She is the chief physician at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical University. The Xihu District Court of Nanchang City sentenced her last year to 8 years in prison because she practises Falun Gong. Those responsible ignored the fact that Ms. Chen suffered from high blood pressure, and put her in the forced labour camp hospital. Now, due to the persecution, she has lost the sight in both of her eyes.

Practitioner Ms. Wu Fengzhen is a doctor of acupuncture at the Number One Hospital of Nanchang City. Officers of the Tengwangge Police Station in Nanchang City arrested Ms. Wu on June 28th 2005, while she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. Her four-year-old daughter was left with no one to take care of her. During the process, the police also detained and questioned the director of her work unit. After being booked and processed by the police, Ms. Wu walked out of the police station. Her sister had already picked up her daughter. On the authority of the Donghu Public Security Bureau, officers of the Tengwangge Police Station conducted a door-to-door search for Ms. Wu the next day. The police searched all of Ms. Wu's relatives' homes in that area. Police officers were posted at bus and train stations in the hopes of intercepting Ms. Wu if she attempted to go to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. It was reported that the police officers of the Tengwangge Police Station were fined 200 yuan (1) each for their failure to arrest Ms. Wu.

On July 11th 2005, Ms. Wu returned to work with the understanding that leaders from the Tengwangge Police Station and her hospital had received her letter explaining the truth of Falun Dafa with her own experience, and police had informed her sister that if she went back to work, everything would be alright. When Ms. Wu went home for lunch on her first day back to work, however, the Tengwangge Police took her away with her daughter. Ms. Wu's sister picked up her daughter again. Ms. Wu is now detained at the Eighth Ward of the First Detention Centre of Nanchang City. It was reported that she will be sentenced to two years of in prison.

We would like to warn the perpetrators of the persecution of innocent people, and admonish them to take a lesson from the following incidents:

The director of the Dongxinxiang Police Station in Nanchang County, Liu Baolong, died in a car accident as he was returning from taking Dafa practitioner Deng Fanbao to a brainwashing class in 2001. Liu was actively involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Zhang Guoliang, the head of the Nanchang City Public Security Bureau died in a car accident in June 2002. Zhang had ordered a citywide raid on Falun Gong practitioners in 2000. Peng Jinsheng, head of the National Security Section of the Jiujiang City Police Department in Jiangxi Province, had a full-time job persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. At the end of December 2001, Peng Jinsheng suddenly died of a stroke while he was en route to Taiping Mountain in Wuning County to arrest Dafa practitioners. The relevant department of the Communist Party even named him a "revolutionary martyr."

Editors' Note: Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by former President Jiang Zemin and his followers, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa practitioners. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they have sealed their own fates and inevitably faced retribution as punishment. If it weren't for Jiang's wicked orders, perhaps their fates would have been different.
