To rescue orphans of practitioners persecuted in China, the Minghui School and the Taiwan Association for Rescuing Falun Gong Practitioners Being Persecuted initiated a signature drive and rescue activities. The activities started on August 25, 2005, and lasted until September 2nd. Altogether, the association received signature lists and cloth pieces with a total of 2,000 signatures from children and people from each county and city.

As Chinese leader Hu Jintao will soon visit the USA, practitioners are calling upon President George Bush to urge the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and issue passports to orphans of practitioners. The Taiwan Association to Rescue Falun Gong Practitioners Being Persecuted and Minghui School took advantage of the start of school after summer vacation to help the schoolchildren learn about the plight of Falun Gong orphans in China. They showed a VCD about rescuing orphans, and explained the hardships faced by the orphans of persecuted practitioners. They called upon everyone to help rescue little practitioners being persecuted in China. The association has submitted a letter of appeal to President Bush and the 2,000 signatures, organised in a booklet.
