In order to draw attention to the plight of orphans of Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death by the evil Communist regime, UK Falun Gong practitioners held a non-profit open-air concert in St. James Square in Edinburgh on August 7th, 2005, the first day of the Edinburgh International Arts Festival. The concert was entitled “Rescue Orphans of Murder and Torture Victims in China." UK practitioners called for people’s help through songs, music and dance. Many of the audience were deeply moved and expressed their support.

“Missing My Child”, a song composed, sung and performed by Falun Gong practitioners moved some onlookers to tears and aroused a lot of people’s sympathy and caused them to think deeply.

Missing my Child

The moon is round, the moonlight like water,
Mountains and rivers for thousands of leagues bathe in the silver radiance,
Mother in jail beholds the bright moon,
Not knowing whether my little darling has gone to sleep?
In the days without mum, do not grieve,
Silently waiting for the day when colourful clouds soar all over the sky.

Sleep, go to sleep, mummy’s little darling,
In our dreams mum will cuddle close about you,
Let us learn from the red plum blossoms in severe winters,
Cannot be flattened by ice or snow, cannot be broken by freezing frost.
In the days without mum, do not grieve,
Silently waiting for the day when colourful clouds soar all over the sky.

Do not weep, my little darling,
How is mum a criminal for believing in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance?
Flowers will blossom when the warm spring comes, and mum will naturally come home,
Then mum will re-unite with my little darling.
In the days without mum, do not grieve,
Silently waiting for the day when colourful clouds soar all over the sky.
