Irena and Vladimir are a couple who live with their two children in the south of the garden state of New Jersey in the United States. They are Jewish and were born in Ukraine, they are a first generation of immigrants to the US. Irena was born in Lviv of Ukraine, which was a small town in Poland before being annexed by the former Soviet Union. The following is the cultivation story of her and her family.

Falun Gong is broad and profound

Seeing them practise in front the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, one can not help but wonder how, as Jews from Ukraine, they take in concepts of traditional eastern culture, with thoughts relating over Buddhism, Taoism, deities, Qigong*, and cultivation. *Qiqong refers to cultivation practises for the mind and body. There are a variety of forms of qiqong, practised throughout the world..

According to Vladimir, the influence of their Jewish origin stops at their names and blood lines. As far as human nature is concerned, they are no different than Chinese or anyone else, saying that it is human nature to yearn for God and Buddha.

Irena, on the other hand, never thought of Falun Gong as belonging to the Chinese or just for the Chinese. She feels a strong sense of benevolence in Falun Gong, which transcends race or borders and resonates in the deepest of her soul.

Revealing the facts about the persecution to Russians

Once, a radio station in New York invited them to Manhattan, where a live introduction of Falun Gong was broadcasted to the Jewish community in New York. While on the air, fifty-two phone calls were received asking for Falun Gong books and materials. Some callers later came to practise Falun Gong.

When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started cracking down on Falun Gong, they were very puzzled by why anyone would persecute such a good practise.

To make people realise that Falun Gong is good and that the persecution is wrong, Irena and Vladimir are telling the truth about the persecution to Russian speaking people and to people all over the world.

Once, Irena’s father, who was not supportive of her practising Falun Gong, was sick. Doctors saw black spots on lobes of his lungs as well as a tumour on his kidney. Severely depressed, he soon could not get out of bed. At that time he thought of the miraculous stories of Falun Gong cultivation that Irena had told him. He borrowed tape recordings of the Falun Dafa lectures by the founder of the practise, Teacher Li, he listened day and night.

A week later, a doctor told him that the black spots vanished from his lungs. Maybe the diagnosis earlier was wrong. Another doctor also telephoned to say that the tumour on the kidney had disappeared. Perhaps it was “something old.” There was no need for further examination.

Later, father said to Irena, “I had a feeling that your Master saved me, is this right?” Irena smiled back, “You must think for yourself and understand this incident using the principles of Falun Gong. I think you already know the answer.”
