On July the 8th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners visited Rouen in Normandy province. They set up a stall in the city centre opposite various elegantly designed buildings and held an anti-torture exhibition where they simulated a few of the many torture methods that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses in its attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs.

Rouen is a tourist city. On that day, the practitioners talked about the brutal human rights abuses against their fellow practitioners in China to tourists from Canada, Russia, UK, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania and others. Many people signed a petition to call for an end to the persecution.

Passers-by looked at the torture simulations and some pictures that further exposed the CCP’s human rights crimes and they were astonished by the savage nature of this persecution. Dozens of school students rushed to sign their names on the petition, holding home-made paper lotus flowers given to them by practitioners. They stood there for a long time and did not want to leave. Several people learned all five sets of Falun Gong exercises that day. They were all very happy and said that they would keep practising the exercises with help from Falun Dafa websites and by visiting their local exercise sites where they can practise with others for free.

When people understood the truth of the persecution they all expressed their support for Falun Gong and said they were against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. After understanding the truth, many people cleared from their hearts the evil lies instilled by the Chinese Communist Party in the past. Many people sincerely expressed a similar wish to Falun Gong practitioners: “Let’s stop this persecution sooner and these atrocities sooner so that you can live a happy and peaceful life.”
