On the 26th of June 2005, UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, Falun Gong practitioners held an activity in Pjatigorsk city centre. Banners and leaflets exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution against Falun Gong over the last six years.

Through some paintings from the “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance Fine Art Exhibition”, people saw more clearly the methods of torture used in attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs. Practitioners told the world’s people about the genocide that the CCP has carried out, as it used media and propaganda to turn the whole country against Falun Gong practitioners.

In four hours, 1,300 leaflets were distributed. People were sympathetic after hearing about the persecution suffered by Falun Gong practitioners. When a young man was told about the human rights abuses, he sat down and tried to copy the practitioners doing the meditation exercise. He said, “I’m trying hard to do it. I am here with you”. A large number of Pjatigorsk citizens already knew about Falun Gong. People found our peaceful way of calling for justice easy to accept.
