On June 21st 2005, UK practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy in London to protest against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brutally torturing Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong and taking her life.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Rongrong, an accountant at the Luxun Fine Arts College in Shenyang City, was abducted from her home by local police on June 22nd 2003, and taken to Longshan Forced Labour Camp. On June 16th 2005, Gao died in the emergency room of China Medical University Hospital of complications stemming from torture and abuse in custody followed nearly two years of incarceration, brainwashing, and torture for her beliefs.

During the illegal incarceration, she lost hearing in one ear, her face was disfigured from seven hours of electric baton shock torture, her bodily organs were atrophying and she was left as only skin and bones. Her life was in grave danger. After she was successfully rescued by Falun Gong practitioners, who publicized her disfigured face to expose the brutal persecution in October 2004, the 6-10 Office head Luo Gan personally gave the order to round up practitioners involved. Gao Rongrong was unfortunately rearrested in March 2005 and died in police custody on June 16th 2005.

On May 7th 2004, Gao Rongrong's face is covered with burns from electric baton shocks. These pictures were taken ten days after the torture.

A practitioner expressed that he felt extremely shocked after hearing about Gao Rongrong’s death because her bitter experience represents the situation of tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners in China who are brutally persecuted for upholding their beliefs. He hopes the whole world can learn the truth and step forward to condemn the crimes of the Chinese Communist Party.

Practitioners’ holding banners attracted the attention of passers-by. One man called Alan Langleben expressed with deep sorrow that, although he did not know much about Falun Gong, a government or organisation can not treat a person this way.

Another passer-by called Keith Smeatson said that the CCP suppressing Falun Gong and torturing Falun Gong practitioners is absolutely wrong. He hoped Falun Gong practitioners could let more UK government senior officials and people in the business sector know the truth and let them play a leading role to exert pressure on the CCP and to stop these atrocities.

From time to time, staff inside the Chinese Embassy opened the windows to watch the practitioners’ rally and to photograph the banners. Practitioners sincerely wish that those officials inside the Chinese Embassy who are still helping the CCP to do evil can uphold their conscience and courage, expose the CCP’s atrocities and defect from the regime.

UK Falun Gong practitioners will hold a formal press conference tomorrow (June 25th), where NGOs and VIPs will be invited to give speeches to condemn the CCP’s atrocities. Practitioners will also continue the protest by sitting quietly outside the Chinese Embassy.
