Illegal Arrests in Three Different Areas

Panjin City, Liaoning Province

Practitioner Pan Yongshu, 33 years old, is a taxi driver well known for his kindness. He obtained Dafa in December 1997. His sincerity and kindness developed from practising Dafa and the way he handled everyday life impressed and moved people around him. From him, many people [in China] have realized the greatness of Dafa and now respect Dafa.

Although Pan had been previously imprisoned in Panjin City Forced Labour Camp for one year for appealing, on October 7, 2001, he went to Beijing […] again. On October 8, he held a banner reading "Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" in Tiananmen Square and shouted loudly his feelings towards Dafa. Police arrested him on site and held him in the Xuanwu District Detention Centre in Beijing. During this detention, his father and wife travelled a long way to visit him; but they were refused entry to the detention centre. He was illegally sentenced to re-education through forced labour. He is being held in the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing. His current situation is unknown. His wife and 10-year-old daughter have been left without any income.

Harbin, Heilongjiang Province

Luo Li, male, 36, had a job in the cafeteria of the Harbin Industrial University. He was fired, however, in August of 2000 just because he persisted in practising Falun Gong. He had to work some part time jobs to raise his family. It was just after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, when several policemen rushed into his home and took him away. A female practitioner visiting his home was also forcibly arrested. Their whereabouts are unknown.

Shenzhen, Guangdong Province

Around 9 p.m. on November 27, 2001, six plain-clothes policemen arrested practitioner Xu Jiafeng and his wife in their home in Liusha of Puning City, Guangdong Province. The six policemen brutally kicked and beat Xu until he lost consciousness. Police cuffed his hands in front of him and forcefully pulled his arms out from the sides to increase the amount of pain he felt. His wife got away from the police […]. The police confiscated their two cellular phones and a laptop computer.

Peng Jiafeng's current whereabouts are unknown.
