The Guards of Masanjia Forced Labour Camp are Losing Hope and the Evil Persecution is Coming to an End

Practitioners who have just been released from Masanjia Forced Labour Camp brought us the latest news about the camp situation.

From the very beginning of the evil persecution, the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp has taken a leading role in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Over the past few years, there has never been less than one thousand female Falun Gong practitioners jailed at Masanjia, and at one time there were more than 1,500. Police treated the detained practitioners harshly, torturing them both physically and spiritually.

Usually at the end of every year, Masanjia would invite a so-called "help group" to assist them in setting up a system of forced transformation. The system plays a key role in what they call the "proactive warfare" of using all kinds of physical torture and brainwashing methods to try to force practitioners to give up their beliefs.

In the second half of last year, some of the "collaborators," former practitioners who had turned against Dafa and participated in efforts to transform other Dafa practitioners, were released at the end of their jail terms. In early October of 2004, the Longshan Labour Camp in Shenyang city was shut down and about one hundred illegally-jailed practitioners were transferred to Masanjia Labour Camp. At the end of that same month, the Dalian Labour Camp was shut down and an additional 120 practitioners were transferred to Masanjia. At that time, there were about eight hundred practitioners jailed in Masanjia Labour Camp.

Within the short time between December of 2004 and the beginning of 2005, more than two hundred practitioners wrote a "solemn declaration" and announced that the "transformation" forced upon them through brainwashing was invalid, and began to practise Falun Gong again. These huge changes in Masanjia demonstrate a new trend in the persecution.

Recently one practitioner was unconditionally released, and before his release he heard a "collaborator" complain to a police leader that "the transformation efforts are not working anymore." During last year's annual meeting, one police leader was complaining loudly because there were not many collaborators left to assist with the persecution.

Before sending this article out, I received information from Masanjia Labour Camp that about two hundred Falun Dafa practitioners had started a group hunger strike to demand their unconditional release. By January 8, 2005, the hunger strike had reached its tenth day. The labour camp sealed off all information outlets and refused to allow hunger strikers to be visited by their relatives.
