Mr. Jiang Yanqing, a Falun Gong practitioner from Shenyang City, passed away in May 2004 after extended harassment by the police.

Mr. Jiang, 50, was employed at Shenyang City's Number Two Construction Company. In 2000 he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested. During the following two years 2000 and 2001, he was detained at three locations: the Shenyang City's Longshan Forced Labour Camp, the Shenxin Forced Labour Camp and the Shenyang City's Zhangshi Forced Labour Camp. He suffered extreme tortures wherever he was incarcerated. In one instance, police knocked out some of his teeth.

After he returned home in October 2001, Mr. Jiang continued to face harassment from the city police, from the residents' management staff, and from the local police. This was tremendously stressful for him.

In May 2004 he suddenly fell into a coma and never regained consciousness. Twenty days later, he passed away.
