Fifty six year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Dong Suyun from Nong-an County, Jilin Province died as a result of the persecution on January 23, 2004. Practitioner Mr. Mu Xingbo from Changchun City, Jilin Province died on October 12, 2004.

Ms. Dong Suyun went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in December 2000. She was arrested, deported back to her home province, sent to a labour camp, and tortured there until her whole body was bruised and swollen. After her release from the labour camp in September 2003, she had become extremely weak, and died on January 23, 2004 as the result of the persecution.

Mr. Mu Xingbo, 28, lived in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Police put him on a "wanted" list because he had been producing printed matter explaining the truth about Falun Gong. They had been chasing after him since the beginning of 2001, and forced him to move many times, causing him to drift around in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

Mr. Mu Xingbo was forced to return to his home in March 2003 because of leg wounds. When the police found out that he had returned, they carried him to the police station. Mr. Mu managed to escape. Tragically, his physical condition had been severely damaged during his long periods of forced homelessness and starvation and he passed away on October 12, 2004.
