It's hard to spot this elderly woman among a sea of people, but she has walked slowly to a bus stop every day for the past month, in order to try to find her dying son.

She is nearly 70 years old. A month ago she left behind the crop waiting to be harvested in Nanmiaoshan Village No. 3 in Miaoshan Town and came to Laiwu City to look for her son.

At 5:30 p.m. on August 5, 2004, a group of plainclothes police abducted her son, Falun Gong practitioner Wang Zideng, who was accompanying his child home from school. Mr. Wang has been detained for almost two months. The inhuman torture in detention has pushed him to the brink of death.

Every morning, the elderly woman gets on the crowded bus and goes to the Laicheng District Precinct of the police department or the detention centre, to request the unconditional release of her son according to the law, but she has received no response so far. She demands to visit her son but the police groundlessly refuse her request. Some police even duped her by promising to take her to their leaders to ask for approval of her visit, but then left and did not return.

I don't know how she survives mentally and physically through this ordeal. Someone saw her trousers covered with dirt. Maybe she was forced to sit on the ground in the detention centre?

Since the illegal persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999, this elderly woman has suffered so much.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Zideng used to run a small shop in the Guansi Market in Laiwu City. To avoid persecution, he left home in 2000. His elderly mother often weeps thinking about him. When he finally returned home, he was taken away by the police, and now his life is in great danger. Who can imagine the heartache his mother suffers?

In April 2001, Ms. Wang Jing, the woman's granddaughter, was sent to two years of forced labour by the lawless Laiwu police when she had just turned 16 years old. She was incarcerated at the Jiangshuiquan Women's Forced Labour Camp for two years in Jinan City.

In the winter of 2000, Ms. Wang Hui, the woman's daughter, was sentenced to three years of forced labour.

On July 13, 2001, Mr. Yin Yuxin, her son-in-law, was abducted from home by the police and illegally sentenced to three years of forced labour.

Around August of 2002, another granddaughter, from her second son Wang Shujie's family, died at age of 4 as a result of the intense persecution of the family by the police.

Now, this elderly lady has gone to the detention centre or the police department every day to ask for her son. Each day at sunset she goes back home, empty-handed and tired as usual, full of disappointment and sadness.

Let's support this righteous person with our righteous voices, so that her wish will soon be granted. Let's support her with our conscience, so that her road to find her son will no longer be rough! When our righteous voices and conscience join together, we shall all embrace a bright future.

We sincerely hope that this elderly lady and her son will reunite soon!
