Ms. Wang Wenduan and Ms. Wang Juan, two Falun Dafa practitioners from Dingzhou City, Hebei Province, died in 2004 as result of the persecution.

Ms. Wang Wenduan, over 50 years old, was an employee of the Dingzhou Supply and Marketing Co-op. Before practising Falun Dafa, Ms. Wang suffered from breast cancer. Although she had several surgeries, her illness was incurable. After she practised Falun Dafa, the cancer disappeared and she became healthy again. In 2000, Ms. Wang was unlawfully sent to a forced labour camp for a year for distributing Falun Dafa truth clarification materials. After she was released, she continued to practise Falun Dafa diligently. In May 2003, Wang was sent to the Brainwashing Centre, where the police beat her so cruelly that the wounds from her previous surgeries split open. Many times, Wang passed out from the beatings. When she was sent back to the detention centre, she was already in critical condition. However, the local "610 Office" and police department refused to let her go home. Later, the detention centre had Ms. Wang's family to take her home for fear of being held responsible. Because of the severe torment she suffered, her condition deteriorated. Ms. Wang passed away in July 2004.

Ms. Wang Juan, 36 years old, was from Dingzhou City. On April 24, 2002, Ms. Wang was arrested and for distributing materials that explained the truth about Falun Dafa. Wang was cruelly beaten by the police. Due the injury from the beatings, she could not even sit down when having to go to the toilet. Two days later, she was transferred to a Detention Centre. On April 16, 2004, she was unlawfully sentenced to prison and sent to Taihang Prison. On April 26, Ms. Wang died in the prison. The prison officials offered 1000 yuan to her family for compensation. They also threatened her family not to publicize the incident. The details of Wang's death are under investigation.
