On the evening of the 18th of September, the Falun Gong Club at the University of Otago was invited to the annual cultural dinner hosted by the School of Medical Sciences.

Before performing the Lotus Dance, a Falun Gong practitioner briefly introduced Falun Dafa, from its spread around the world with more than 100 million practitioners, to former Chinese President Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong since July of 1999. She said that the lotus symbolises purity and peace, and the lotus dance is dedicated to the practitioners' firm belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" under such a harsh and brutal persecution. At the end of the party, practitioners sang "Coming for You" for the guests and the event ended with the song "Falun Dafa is Good" playing in the background.

The Falun Gong Club was formed in the beginning of this year as a student organisation and its goal is to spread the beauty of Falun Dafa and expose the persecution.
