Tuesday July 20th marked exactly five years since the Chinese Government under Jiang Zemin instigated the illegal persecution of Falun Gong. UK practitioners held a second anti-torture exhibition opposite the House of Lords in London's Westminster to expose the brutal methods used in Chinese labour camps and prisons to force practitioners to give up their belief. Ten methods of torture were displayed, although over 100 are known to be used. They included forced abortion, hanging by the wrists and insertion of bamboo under the finger nails.

As well as exposing the torture of ordinary Chinese people who are striving to live by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, practitioners called for support from the people of the UK to help end the persecution. Passers by accepted leaflets all day and stopped to talk with practitioners, often at length, about the situation in China. Many were shocked by what they learned and were moved to sign the petition to bring Jiang Zemin to justice. Hundreds of people signed the petition throughout the day and several people were to be heard enthusiastically praising the effectiveness of the vivid presentation.

A camera crew from Sky News arrived shortly after we had finished setting up and shot extensive footage of the exhibit. A photographer from The Independent newspaper, as well as two agency photographers, also arrived to take pictures.
