June the 26th was World Anti-Torture Day. Latvian practitioners called for a focus on torture and the various abuses inflicted on Falun Gong by the Jiang regime in China. Additionally, they called for the end to the persecution by appealing at the embassy for five consecutive days.

Falun Dafa practitioners from every city in Latvia participated in the appeal campaign at the Chinese Embassy, holding a banner reading “Appeal for an End to the Persecution of Falun Dafa in China” in both English and Latvian. Passers-by received leaflets detailing all kinds of torture that practitioners in China suffer simply because they practise Falun Gong. Passers-by supported our campaign, and showed concern for practitioners in China.

During the appeal at the Chinese Embassy, plenty of people came over to watch the exercise demonstrations. The policeman in charge of public security was very interested in the practice and inquired about the time and location of the practice site.

This campaign was sponsored by the Riga Congress and was also reported on by media organisations.
