Downtown Frankfurt was bustling on Saturday June the 26th as the Frankfurt Multicultural Parade was in full swing. The parade started at 12 o’clock and took a route through the major commercial streets, ending at about 4pm at the Roman Square, a famous tourist spot in the city centre. More than one hundred organisations participated in the parade and it attracted tens of thousands of spectators.

Falun Gong practitioners from various parts of Germany took part in the parade. The Falun Gong procession was made up of a waist-drum band, a float, a troupe of lotus dancers and a troupe of fan dancers. The magnificent waist-drum band in their yellow uniforms, the float decorated with lotus flowers and the beautiful dancers all received warm applause from the crowds. The crowds also received leaflets distributed by Falun Gong practitioners who walked on both sides of the marching procession. Many of the people started reading as soon as they received them. According to the practitioners who distributed the leaflets, many people could sing the song “Falun Dafa Is Good”, which was used as the music accompaniment for the dance.

The Falun Gong procession also won favourable praise from the President of the parade and was awarded the second prize. A western practitioner accepted the prize on behalf of all Falun Gong practitioners who took part in the activity. In her speech of appreciation, she called upon people to pay attention to the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China. Her speech drew enthusiastic applause from those in attendance. At the end, the host hoped that everyone would take home the wonderfulness of Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance.
