The Swedish People are Aware of the Human Rights Violations in China

On June the 4th, human rights groups gathered for commemorative activities to remind people of their concern about human rights abuse in China. The crack of rifles fifteen years ago hasn’t diminished in the minds of the Swedish people; the facts of the persecution against Falun Gong are displayed right there before them.

One morning, the General Manager walked by my office and said to me, “Isn’t today a good day?” I couldn’t react to his words immediately, so I looked at him with questioning look on my face. He continued, “It is a good day to highlight the human rights abuses in China.” Another co-worker came over and said, “The Chinese Government should reverse the miscarriage of justice on the June 4th incident and Falun Gong.”

All of my friends, co-workers and neighbours know that I am a Falun Gong practitioner and that the Chinese Consulate turned down my request for the issue of a visa and that as a result I now have negative records (that means I am on the blacklist because I practise Falun Gong). This meant that my father could not see his loving daughter before his death. This unfair treatment has resulted in immense antipathy from my friends, neighbours, colleague, and all the relatives who attended my father’s funeral. Even Swedish congressmen and human rights experts sent letters to me to express their condolences and encouragement after they learned of my predicament.

Recently, Swedish radio, TV and several newspapers have issued news about June the 4th, human rights in China and the atmosphere in Tiananmen Square. The Swedish National Newspaper and Dagens Nyheter published a long article, which detailed how far we are from a democratic regime in China. The article discusses the tighter and stronger controls on freedom of speech, belief, and democracy, through the illustration of the crackdown on June the 4th incident and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Recently Swedish people who I know to have an admiration for ancient Chinese culture and civilisation expressed their condemnation of human rights abuse in China and doubted the authenticity of what the Chinese Government says. If the bloody crackdown in Tiananmen Square on June 4th fifteen years ago revealed the brutality and tyranny of the Chinese rulers, then the genocide of Falun Gong practitioners exposes all the more the evil and insidious practises.
