Madrid, Spain: UN Delegates Are Not Fooled by the Chinese Government’s Lies

Between 23rd and 25th of November, the United Nations International Consultative Conference on School Education with relation to Freedom of Religion, Belief, Tolerance and Non-Discrimination was held in Madrid, Spain. This was attended by more than 200 delegates from many countries, including China. Over 20 Falun Gong practitioners, in support of the local practitioners in Madrid, also attended the event. They came from many European countries, as well as South America, USA and Canada. This event provided a perfect opportunity to highlight China’s “educational ways”, which they employ to brainwash young school children against Falun Gong. Practitioners distributed an information pack to the conference delegates informing them of China’s non-existent “freedom of religious, belief, tolerance and non-discrimination”, not only against Falun Gong in the field of education but also in all aspects of their Government policies. This pack contained a letter from the European Falun Dafa Association outlining China’s abuse of “educational ways”, information on the persecution and on the true nature of Falun Dafa. This was reinforced by practitioners performing Falun Gong exercises, for the delegates to witness this peaceful and beautiful practice.

The information was received with gratitude and concern by most of the delegates. One female delegate hugged a Falun Gong practitioner and asked for material to distribute inside the conference. After learning the truth about Falun Gong, two delegates separately brought information to practitioners from inside the conference to further expose the vicious lies of the Chinese Government. A tremendous amount of delegates expressed support for Falun Dafa: South East Asian delegates were “really angry” with the Chinese. African delegates said that they were “aware of the truth”, Middle Eastern delegates stated “you are only trying to tell the truth and expose what they are doing”, whilst South American delegates advised practitioners on how to bring the persecutors to justice through international law. Most of the delegates were not only shocked, but also “disgusted” by the speech of the Chinese delegates and “angered” by their subsequent behaviour and attitude. Their blatantly obvious lies fooled nobody; most of the delegates laughed upon hearing the Chinese statement and talked amongst themselves about the positive features of Falun Dafa. It is clear that the Chinese Government cannot hide behind a veil of lies. A representative of a European country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told how their shocking behaviour was the talk of the delegates’ cocktail party, with most of them being ashamed of their Chinese counterparts.

The Chinese delegates put pressure on the Spanish police to stop the exercises taking place outside the Palacio de Congresio venue. After practitioners clarified the truth of Falun Gong to the police, they were very friendly describing the practice as “wonderful” and “fabulous”. Many of them left with flyers after expressing a sincere interest in learning more about Falun Dafa.

The public displayed a similar reaction with cries of “I support you, I support you!” from one Spanish lady. One busy area appeared as a sea of white flyers with over 2000 being distributed in 90 minutes. It became obvious that the Chinese community in Madrid is also beginning to accept the truth of Falun Gong and see through the evil lies of the Chinese Government, in a similar way to the nearby international delegates. In a restaurant, previously known to be the most anti-Falun Gong establishment in the city, a young practitioner was given a present by the restaurant’s proprietor. After encountering incorrect beliefs from Chinese assistants in a supermarket, one practitioner spent an hour clarifying the truth resulting in the assistants developing a desire to learn Falun Gong. Members of the public from all backgrounds were happy to take the flyers and often stayed to listen to the truth and seek abolition of their misconceptions. On the final day of the conference practitioners met at a local practice site and were filmed for Spanish television. The journalist interviewed practitioners as well as commenting on the contrast between the tranquil exercises and the brutal persecution.

The weekend resulted in many people, from the public to world-wide Government representatives, learning the truth of Falun Gong and realising that the Chinese Government is spreading vicious and blatantly obvious lies.
