In January, 2004, because the French police were unaware of the truth about Falun Gong and were deceived and pressurised by Jiang’s regime, brutal persecutors of this peaceful practice, they illegally detained several Falun Gong practitioners in Paris. Directly after the incident took place, French practitioners contacted people from all circles of French society to let them know that Falun Dafa is good and is being wrongly and unjustly persecuted. They appealed to those who were involved in arresting practitioners to take responsibility and apologise. Practitioners’ requests have received more and more attention and support.

On April the 13th French MP Lionnel Luca put a question to the French Home Secretary in a letter to call for an explanation regarding the measures taken in this incident. This letter was published on the French Government’s Journal Officiel, as well as on the Parliament’s official website (http://www.questions.assemblee-national.fr/search97cgi/s97_cgi.exe).The translation of this article is as follows:

Regarding the incident of the French Police arresting and interrogating Falun Gong practitioners when the President of The People’s Republic of China was paying his visit to Paris on the 24th to the 28th of January, Mr Lionnel Luca called for the attention of the Interior Office and the President of the Security Department.

It looks like as if the reason for those people being arrested is because they were wearing yellow, a colour that is associated with Falun Gong. Many instances of this kind of interrogation were filmed and it is possible that the filming will be shown in China so as to prove the legitimisation of the persecution against this group of people. He wished to know the cause of these incidents and to have a reasonable explanation regarding the qualifications for these measures.
