Falun Dafa: Road to Peace was the title of a special presentation given by Falun Gong practitioners at a “Peace and Philosophy” workshop in Jaumen University in Spain. Their participation was at the invitation of the Centre for International Peace and Development in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation and Jaumen University. Students of Masters degrees on “Peace and Philosophy” from all over the world, professors at Law Departments at Jaumen University and members of the Centre for International Peace and Development and Amnesty International participated in this workshop.

Falun Gong practitioners Dr. Li Guihua from Cambridge University in the UK and Mrs. Dai Zhizhen from Australia, as well as Spanish lawyer Mr. Carlos Iglesias, successively spoke at the meeting. Dr. Li Guihua first introduced the notable effect and function of Falun Dafa on improving health and raising morality since Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Gong to the public in 1992, and its rapid spread through China and the world in only a few short years. By contrast, Mrs. Dai Zhizhen recounted how her husband had been persecuted to death in the persecution, which Jiang and his regime initiated in July 1999. She appealed to kind people all over the world to stop this persecution. Her moving speech surprised all the people at the meeting. Lawyer Carlos Iglesias elaborated on the huge disaster and damage this persecution has brought to humankind He introduced the existence of several lawsuits in different countries charging Jiang with the crimes of Genocide, Torture and Crimes Against Humanity and explained their significance. He asked people to unite in the preserving the good and advocating for bringing the evil people to justice.

Falun Gong practitioners’ speeches deeply shocked the people at the meeting, and the conference was solemn and serious. Before the meeting ended, the practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. When demonstrating the second exercise, the meeting organiser invited all the people in attendance to stand up and also hold the same posture of the exercise “Holding the Wheel” with practitioners, in support and respect for Falun Dafa.

After the meeting finished, professors from the Law Department and members of Amnesty International came to the platform to express their earnest concern for the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners occurring in China, and to reveal their hope to provide possible legal help. A professor at the Law Department and member of the Spanish Lawyer Association said that he will discuss with members of the Lawyer Association how to help Falun Gong practitioners. He also indicated that he will make this a research topic for himself and his students. Amnesty International members indicated that they would make a special report about the situation, on the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China in terms of slander and propaganda and serious abuses of human rights, and let more and more people know of and pay attention to the persecution.

Many people in attendance around the auditorium expressed their sympathy and concern for Falun Gong practitioners, as well as respect for their peaceful courage. They all strongly wished to help Falun Gong practitioners. All people at the meeting lined up to sign the petition form entitled "Stop the Persecution!"

After many teachers and students at Jaumen University had become aware of the facts about the serious abuses of human rights in the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, they all signed the petition. After some students and professors learned the facts, they felt that more people should practise this cultivation method and start to read Zhuan Falun and learn the Falun Gong exercises.
