According to a report from the Falun Dafa Information Center on January 30, a news source in Heilongjiang Province has verified that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jin Guanghua from Harbin City was tortured to near death around July 2003. The police disclosed Jin Guanghua was sent to a hospital in a state of near death and passed away after only one night in the hospital.

The news source states: Jin Guanghua was a Falun Gong practitioner in her 30's who lived in Harbin City, near Dongli District Thermoelectricity Plant. Around February and March of 2003, the police discovered Falun Gong practitioners were distributing truth clarification materials. The police probed into Ms. Jin Guanghua's whereabouts and tried to arrest her. Jin Guanghua was therefore had no choice but to leave home and go to Shenyang City.

Around June or July of 2003, information of Jin Guanghua's death was heard from Shenyang City. The "610 Office" told her family to go and see her for the last time, but her family only brought back her ashes.

Yesterday, a male police officer at Tongxiang Street Police Station (86-451-82681181) said Ms. Jin Guanghua died of myocarditis [a kind of heart problem] and whole body-system failure. The officer also said, "she died in the hospital after only one night of emergency treatment." The police refused to reveal whether Jin Guanghua was detained before her death or who sent her to the hospital. "I cannot tell you that," the police officer said.

An official from the Dongli District "610 Office" (86-451-82166181) also said the local police and street officials went to Shenyang City in Liaoning Province far away from Harbin City because of Jin Guanghua's death, which shows it's unlikely that her unusual death is due to illness.
