Lord Thurlow: "Jiang Zemin should be chastised by the international courts."

On January the 11th 2004, London's Trafalgar Square saw UK Falun Gong practitioners gather to demonstrate the five Falun Gong exercises and perform a symbolic trial entitled “Bring Jiang to Justice", which attracted many tourists.

Following the beautiful song entitled “Falun Dafa is Great", female practitioners in white dresses performed a traditional Chinese fan dance. After being introduced to China in 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi, Falun Gong went on to receive unprecedented popularity among the Chinese people. 100 million people were soon practising. Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin felt uncomfortable and envious of Falun Gong's popularity and in 1999 he initiated a brutal persecution against this peaceful practice. He set up the “610 Office", which specialises in the persecution of Falun Gong and operates above China's law, to carry out national terrorism on his three main orders: “Defame their reputation, devastate them financially and physically destroy them." Because of this, practitioners held a symbolic trial to sue Jiang for his crimes of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity.

The Falun Gong practitioners who didn’t perform handed out materials to passersby. At times, people came to enquire about the activities and the persecution in China. Practitioners were happy to answer their questions.

He Bin, a practitioner who was previously detained in China but now lives in the UK, talked about how he was kidnapped, beaten and force-fed because he practises Falun Gong. Now his younger brother, He Jian, is in a Chinese prison and has been brutally tortured for the same reason. He Bin called upon people to rescue all Falun Gong practitioners illegally incarcerated in China.

Former senior UK diplomat Lord Thurlow, who adopted the role of the judge in this symbolic trial, insisted: “Relative international laws have made progress, former presidents, such as the former Chilean president Pinochet and the former Yugoslavian president Milosevic, have been sued in international courts. In July 1999, Jiang personally initiated a brutal persecution. In human history, there has never been such a persecution. By now, there have been one thousand people tortured to death and tens of thousands unlawfully imprisoned. The Jiang regime have put themselves above the law and he has madly carried out national terrorism. Now Jiang cannot claim ‘Head of State Immunity’. Suing Jiang will awaken the international media."

Lord Thurlow added, “this persecution, followed by huge propaganda, turns public opinion against Falun Gong. As a result, the people and media worldwide cannot be aware that this is a persecution of good people. Thus, we just want to let people to know what is happening in China, which is of utmost importance. The time has come to bring Jiang Zemin to Justice."
