More contacts have been established with the parliament and with the human rights unit of foreign ministry of Finland, and the media here is now getting information straight from the Falun Gong Information Centre. Also many new people have gotten to learn the gentle yet powerful exercises. Due to the rapidly growing interest, one practice site has already been established in Jyväskylä and Oulu, and one more is coming.
During October 20th and 21st eight Falun Gong practitioners participated in the yearly "Exhibition of Spirit and Knowledge" in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. In 1998 Falun Gong was first introduced to Finland at the same exhibition, and every year thereafter some practitioners from Sweden have participated, making this the fourth time. However, this year was different from the previous three, as for the first time practitioners from Finland, participated in the activity, six people altogether, including two Chinese practitioners staying in Finland. Many people signed our petition letters to help stop the persecution in China. We held workshops three times on Saturday and twice on Sunday. We hang up a large sign with the words "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance", on a wall that was easy to see and caught many people's eyes. People had come from quite many cities in Finland to this exhibition, and asked us to come and hold workshops in their cities in future. They were also happily surprised at learning that our workshops are free of charge. Since 1999, we have printed about 300 copies of the introductory book Falun Gong. The draft version of the main book Zhuan Falun has been available for one year, and the final version is in the printing office right now. The truth of Dafa and the principles of universe; truth, compassion and forbearance are spreading to an ever increasing number of people in Finland.
