Ms. Long Ying is a Dafa practitioner in Huaihua City, Hunan Province. On January 16, 2003, while posting signs reading "Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance" and "Falun Dafa is Good" at the Mang Power Plant in Zhiiang County, she was reported to the management there. Two staff members soon illegally took her into custody, handcuffed her to a window and later around a tree. They also beat her. Later that night, she was turned over to the county's "610 Office"[1] and they had the local police detain her in the Zhijiang County Detention Centre. She was later transferred to the County Detention Centre on January 19. Because she refused to be forced to renounce her belief in Dafa, she was once again transferred to Baimalong Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, on May 22.

At the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, she insisted on studying the Falun Dafa teachings and practising the exercises, and refused to cooperate with the authorities as she had committed no crime. As a result, she was brutally persecuted. The policemen at the labour camp used various means to prevent her from practising the Falun Dafa exercises. Some of the means they employed included shackling her neck, gagging her, slapping her face, and dragging her by the arms. Whether she was practising her sitting meditation or not, the authorities forcibly prevented her from sitting in any cross-legged position. Every time she was sitting in that posture on her bed, the prisoners would, directed by the police, pull her legs down and drag her out of of her bed. She was even thrown against the wall. At night, she was subjected to a terrible torture known as "Pass in Workshop" [a form of torture in which a person is pulled, lifted, dragged, thrown, hit, and handcuffed for as long as five hours].

In response to various means of brutal torture, she firmly stood against the persecution and exposed the crimes that were committed against her to other people. Afraid that their crimes would be exposed, the police stuffed her mouth with towels, dirty rags, and taped it shut to stop her from crying out. They often confiscated and tore up Teacher's articles that were obtained from Dafa practitioners with great effort. To stop the persecution and create an environment to study the Falun Dafa teachings and to practise the exercises, Ms. Long Ying began a hunger strike. Several policemen pressed her down and force-fed her. Unable to move her body at all, she felt like vomiting and was suffocated.

On July 27, she was again subjected to the "Pass in Workshop" torture. Due to the hours of beatings, her physical tolerance had been stretched to such a limit that she attempted to escape the workshop on the second floor where she was being tortured. She was severely injured from the jump. The diagnosis by the Zhuzhou Second Hospital showed that, several of her lumbar vertebras were cracked with one of them seriously fractured. According to the doctor, she must stay bedridden for at least three months before she can attempt to walk. After Long Ying was injured, the evil policemen tried to stop the news from spreading. Without even informing her family, they transferred her to the Zhuzhou Chemical Plant Hospital and handcuffed both of her hands to the bed for about ten days before they sent her back to the labour camp and locked her up once again. She is currently locked up in the 3rd Brigade, where she is bedridden.

The crimes in the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp have been exposed several times before. In this camp, six Dafa practitioners have died from the torture they received at the camp. The means of persecution used here include putting doses of nerve-damaging drugs into food, injecting a powerful drug known as "Hibernation Number One" that destroys a person's central nervous system, "shackled and hung up"[2], shocked with electric batons, forced feeding, locked up in a small cell, and other tortures known as "Stretched and Cuffed Four Limbs," and "Pass in Workshop" etc. The brutal methods used by the authorities at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp continue.

Falun Dafa practitioners are required to have good moral character. Killing and suicide are strictly prohibited. Under any calamities and humiliation, Dafa practitioners must cherish their precious human bodies.

The Jiang Zemin regime has been bloodily persecuting those who believe in "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance." As human beings, practitioners also have limits to how much their human bodies can sustain. As a result, it is no surprise that some practitioners have suffered severe mental trauma and mental collapse, or hurt themselves after being subjected to constant terror and torture in the forced labour camps. These incidences in turn expose the degree of the brutality and inhumanity of the persecution. The international communities, various UN organisations, the justice systems around the world, and people who uphold justice, please show your concern about the situation in China. Together, let us end this irrational persecution!
