Ms. Xu Hongnian is twenty-seven years old. She started practising Falun Dafa in 1998. In May 2002, officers from Chenzhou Police Bureau and Hengyang Railroad Police Station illegally arrested her. She was taken to Hengyang city, where the police used the most inhuman methods to torture her. For instance, they handcuffed her hands and feet to an iron gate for more than six hours, stuffed live earthworms into her mouth, and even put a live eel into her underpants. After two months of torture, Xu was sent to Number Two Detention Centre in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. She was illegally imprisoned there until March 2003. Ms. Xu was then sentenced to two and a half years of forced labour. Ms. Xu is currently at Baimalong Women's Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. She is being forced to do hard labour during the day and write "repentance" statements at night.

Ms. Yang Xiaoming is the wife of Ms. Xu Hongnian's cousin. She lived in Yincheng City, Hubei provinvce. At the end of 2001, she paid a visit to Ms. Xu at her home in Chenzhou city, Hunan province. Because of that, Chenzhou police illegally arrested Ms. Yang with a blank arrest warrant. The police conspired with the neighbourhood administration office. They first tricked Ms. Yang into going to that office, and then arrested her there. Ms. Yang was taken to Chenzhou Police Bureau, and was illegally detained there from July 2002 to March 2003. She was then illegally sentenced to two years of forced labour and is currently being jailed at Baimalong Women Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan province.

Another Falun Dafa practitioner, Huang Jihua, from Yincheng city, Hubei province was arrested on September 11, 2003 while clarifying the truth to people. Huang is currently detained at Number Two Detention Centre in Yincheng city and has been on a hunger strike ever since her illegal arrest and imprisonment.
