Philadelphia public TV station WYBE held a "Family Fun Day" event at the Roxborough YMCA to increase interaction with the community and TV viewers on September 27 2003. The TV station invited many groups to perform dances, music, make crafts and do calligraphy as well as provide horse riding, face painting and other fun activities for children. Philadelphia Falun Gong practitioners were also invited.

Many local Americans showed great interest in Chinese culture. Though it was a cloudy day and it rained from time to time, people were still waiting in line to receive "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance is good" and their names in Chinese calligraphy. The residents also enjoyed the traditional Chinese fan dance, the waist drum performance, and Falun Gong exercises demonstrations. Many visitors praised a six-year-old practitioner who demonstrated the meditation exercises and declared to the audience, "Falun Dafa is great!"

This is the fourth year for WYBE TV Station to hold the "Family Fun Day" event. General manager Sherri H. Culver said that the purpose of the activity is to let WYBE members and its audience enjoy the entertainment of multiple cultures and to improve the understanding among different cultures. She thanked Falun Gong practitioners as they brought Chinese culture and provided a good chance for people to understand the Chinese community.
