Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien will visit China on October 22, 2003.

Falun Gong practitioners in Canada will begin a large-scale rescue activity in late August, calling on the Prime Minister, when he meets the Chinese leaders, to raise issues about Falun Gong and request the release of all illegally detained practitioners, especially the ones who are family members of Canadian residents. They also will ask the Prime Minister to pay special attention to the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners at the Masanjia Labour Camp in Liaoning Province. The Masanjia Labour Camp is located in Shenyang City, Toronto's sister city. Practitioner Lu Xiuzhen, mother of Toronto practitioner Mr. Li Bo is detained at this Labour camp, which is known for its inhuman treatment of Falun Gong practitioners.

At the same time, before the three-level governmental elections are held in Toronto and other cities, Falun Gong practitioners called on local senators and candidates to pay attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China whose family members are Canadian residents. They further asked these governmental entities to write letters to the Prime Minister and urge him to pay extra attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners at the Masanjia Labour Camp. The practitioners petitioned the Canadian government to establish an official organisation to investigate the crimes committed at this Labour camp, especially the persecution against family members of Canadian residents. The practitioners will provide the Canadian government with a list of names of all the perpetrators who persecuted Falun Gong practitioners, and request that these people be barred from entering Canada in the future.

According to Mr. Jack Fan, Canadian spokesman for the "Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners," beginning at the end of August, Canadian practitioners will start a campaign of mailing postcards in Canada. 50,000 postcards appealing to the Prime Minister to pay attention to the Falun Gong issue will be made and distributed in Canada. Since 2001, Canadian practitioners have been doing this for three consecutive years. The practitioners will collect signatures on postcards carrying the pictures of persecuted family members of Falun Gong practitioners and a message about the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. These postage-free cards will be sent to the office of the Prime Minister as a witness to the strong attention the Canadian people are paying to this issue. Many NGOs, workers' unions and students from universities and colleges have previously taken part in this activity, which has created a great influence in society. This year, it will have an even greater impact.

Additionally, the practitioners will embark on a car tour over a large area to visit local governments at various levels, Members of Parliament and also the media, in hopes of obtaining greater support. At the same time, they will hold a series of press conferences and other media activities in Ottawa and Toronto to attract wide public attention. Moreover, since the Chinese consulate sends lots of hate-instigating propaganda materials to Canadian Members of Parliament, GMRPFGP has filed a case with the "World Organization to Investigation the Persecution of Falun Gong." (WOIPFG) The latter organisation will quickly begin a thorough investigation of the hate-mail campaign by the Chinese consulates. WOIPFG will urge the Canadian Prime Minister to pay attention to the hatred-instigating propaganda being spread in Canada, completely forbid such activities and deport Chinese consulate officials who violate diplomatic protocol.

Mr. Lin Shenli and his wife Ms. Li Jinyu, as well as Ms. Wang Yuzhi, who were illegally sent to forced Labour camps and brutally tortured in China, are requesting GMRPFGP to pursue a lawsuit against Jiang in Canada.

Mr. Lin Shenli was detained at a labour camp for twenty-two months because he practised and appealed for Falun Gong. His wife's whole family suffered persecution, and her brother is currently being held at a Labour camp in Shanghai.

Ms. Wang Yuzhi was detained at the Wanjia Labour Camp in Harbin City, China for nine months, during which time she almost lost her eyesight from the brutal torture she received. Later, her family members in China were persecuted because she took part in the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and Li Lanqing, head of the "610 Office." Her two sisters and one brother were arrested. Because this incident was widely exposed in the Canadian community and the Canadian government paid great attention to it, Ms. Wang Yuzhi's sisters were released. On August 19, 2003, it was learnt that her brother, Wang Chengyuan, was released after seven months of detention as a hostage.

Lin Shenli, Li Jinyu and Wang Yuzhi, living overseas, are eyewitnesses to this persecution. They will tell their experiences of this persecution to the entire nation and seek legal actions to bring the head persecutor to justice.

We hope all of society will pay attention as we expose the crimes of the perpetrators prior to the Prime Minister's visit to China. We hope the news media will relay news to his office so we can obtain help and support from the Canadian government, including the Prime Minister.
