A Swedish Family went to Washington D.C. to Support Global Efforts to bring Jiang Zemin to Justice

On 21st July 2003, as the persecution of Falun Gong continued into its fourth year, Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world gathered in the US capital and called for an end to the persecution, and for a public trial of the instigator of this campaign of Genocide, China’s former president Jiang Zemin. In the large Falun Gong parade through Washington, there was a western couple with their two young daughters. They were Mr. Herr Kleinert, Mrs. Fru Kleinert, their four-year-old child Tara, and her two-year-old sister Mira.

The following is an interview with Mr. and Mrs. Kleinert by a Clearharmony reporter:

Reporter: Why did you come to Washington D.C.?

Mrs. Kleinert: The United States is a democratic and free country and Washington D.C. is its capital. Many important decisions are made here. My family came from Sweden to show our support for the trial of Jiang Zemin. We came to Washington D.C. to join other Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world to petition in the name of justice and conscience.

Reporter: Why did you want to sue Jiang Zemin?

Mr. Kleinert: Jiang Zemin is the perpetrator of this persecution. He launched the persecution of people who follow Truth, Kindness, and Tolerance. This persecution has spread all over the world and caused many Falun Gong practitioners to be brutally tortured to death, lose their freedom, or be taken away from their homes. It is a manifestation of violence and evilness. To put him on trial will allow more people to understand his crimes. The people of this world will understand the truth of this persecution and recognise its evil nature.

Reporter: What benefits has practising Falun Gong brought to your family?

Mrs. Kleinert: Falun Gong has made us understand how to build a nice family life and respect the differences in each person and each person’s responsibilities. It allows my husband and me to better understand our identities as husband and wife and support each other in our daily life. Falun Gong helps us to be kind-hearted. We consider the other person first. By so doing, many disgruntled feelings between us that used to exist have disappeared. We can be joyful and smile at each other. Our gratitude for finding Falun Gong has created a kind of stability and peace in our family. Although life can be tense and workloads are heavy, nothing can eliminate the happiness in our hearts when we practise Falun Gong. Even our two children can feel this happiness. They have begun to understand that happiness is inside rather than outside a person.

Reporter: What do you plan to do next?

Mrs. Kleinert: After we return to Sweden, we will continue to practise and expose the truth about this persecution. We will do as much as we can to bring Dafa to more people. In Sweden, a lawsuit against Jiang’s crimes is being prepared.
