Three British practitioners completed an SOS Car Tour through five major cities in northwest England within four days (July 16th -19th) to aid the rescue efforts for UK practitioners’ family members and friends who are being persecuted in China. We visited the local officials in these cities and contacted local media. We deeply felt that there are still many people with predestined relationships waiting to learn the truth about Dafa.

When walking out of the parking lot outside a City Hall, a man working there read the words on our shirts: “Falun Gong” and “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.” He asked: “Are you from Hong Kong?” We immediately sensed that he could see a relationship between Hong Kong’s recent parade of 500,000 people and Falun Gong. We thus immediately handed him a flyer and told him about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution. We also explained to him that the Hong Kong government’s promotion of Article 23 legislation is against the residents’ will and its aim is to extend the persecution of Falun Gong to Hong Kong. After we explained the objectives of our SOS Tour, he said that he supports us and will sincerely read our materials and visit Dafa websites.

When entering the City Hall, a receptionist received us and attentively listened to our introduction to Falun Gong and the persecution of practitioners in China. He told us that the Councillors happened to be holding a meeting that evening, and he would like to put our leaflets where they could be seen by all the council members. By doing so, the Councillors could read our flyers during their meeting, as well as the letters that we left for them.

When visiting a newspaper office, the receptionist asked us why we were there. As soon as she learned about the SOS Rescue Tour, she called the paper’s journalists. Though it was lunchtime, she urged a reporter to come downstairs to meet us. The receptionist was very busy and there were many in-coming calls, but we still took advantage of the time between two calls to tell her the facts about Dafa. She felt uneasy when hearing about such a cruel persecution in China, and pledged her support for our SOS rescue efforts. After she made sure that the reporter would come downstairs to interview us, she then left for lunch. Prior to leaving, she wished us good luck. When talking to the reporter, we sent forth righteous thoughts and explained the facts at the same time. The interview was a great success.

Finally we arrived at the City Hall of the last city we planned to visit. After hearing how we wanted to tell the Council members about our SOS rescue activities, the lady who received us made phone calls to several departments and made arrangements for us to talk to the Council members’ secretaries. We found out which councillor is responsible for Chinese affairs. We then decided to immediately prepare some information especially for this councillor. We spoke with the lady who had welcomed us and she mentioned that she saw us practising the exercises in the Peace Garden outside the City Hall, and she wanted to know more about the exercises. We encouraged her to come to our local practice site and learn them for free. We realised from this car tour that we should treasure every opportunity to tell people the facts about Dafa and try our best to do everything well.
