Painting: Worrying About the Early Blossom

This painting is of a beauty from an ancient Royal court. There is nothing in the background apart from three red flowers that have fallen to the floor. This combines the sadness of this lady, regarding her age as flowing water that always flows forth, together with beautiful flowers that have easily fallen.

Treasuring spring, at the same time, worrying about the flowers blossoming too early. Early blossom means an early wither and spring implies an early start and early finish. What is sadness, is when the fallen flowers cover the ground.
